Silly and cute! As a toddler, one of my children learned how to say "no" at all the right parts of this book。。。he loved it! It's still a hit with my preschooler and kindergartener。 Silly and cute! You guys, is it blasphemy if I say I like this book more than perennial children's classic "Moo Ba La La La"?My toddler most certainly does。 It is her nightly book choice, as well as the book she must sleep with both an nap and in the evening。The story here isn't overly complicated。 A bunch of cute animals ask your child if they are one of them? The answer is always no, once nope, until it isn't。 It's a cute spin on the standard "introducing babies to animals" fare。Bonus: most Boyton books featu You guys, is it blasphemy if I say I like this book more than perennial children's classic "Moo Ba La La La"?My toddler most certainly does。 It is her nightly book choice, as well as the book she must sleep with both an nap and in the evening。The story here isn't overly complicated。 A bunch of cute animals ask your child if they are one of them? This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book has fun pictures and animals, I will probably really like it once I am a little older, for now I like books best where Daddy can make the most silly faces and voices。 I loke at the end when they say I'm me and thats great。。。 but I'd also really like to be the penguin。 This book has fun pictures and animals, I will probably really like it once I am a little older, for now I like books best where Daddy can make the most silly faces and voices。 I loke at the end when they say I'm me and thats great。。。 but I'd also really like to be the penguin。 。。。more

I love everything that Boynton writes。 She is the master of subtle humor that makes her books work well for all ages。 This one follows a rhythm, letting the readers use predictive skills while also identifying animals。 Super sweet and silly。For: fans of Boynton; readers wanting a book about animals; readers wanting a ME book (self awareness)。Possible red flags: some readers may find too repetitive or simple。

A chicken asks the reader if s/he is one of a series of animals? This book is not only silly fun, but it also teaches young children the names of common animals (chicken, cow, dog, duck, frog, lamb, pig, hippopotamus, bear, and penguin)。 It concludes with one of the most common morals in contemporary children's literature: being yourself is the best possible thing you can be。My toddler is a comedian and likes to make the appropriate animal noise in response to each question。 A chicken asks the reader if s/he is one of a series of animals? This book is not only silly fun, but it also teaches young children the names of common animals (chicken, cow, dog, duck, frog, lamb, pig, hippopotamus, bear, and penguin)。 It concludes with one of the most common morals in contemporary children's literature: being yourself is the best possible thing you can be。My toddler is a comedian and likes to make the appropriate animal noise in response to each question。 。。。more

I didn't realize at the beginning that the narrator was asking me, the reader, what animal I might be。。。since each page illustration showed the corresponding animal I thought, for example, he was asking the cow if he was a cow so I was confused when the answer was no。 Hahaha I cottoned on fast enough however, and this delightful book is a funny way to learn your animals! This was a real miss。 Probably better suited to children who are able to say "no" (probably a hit with those ones)。 There is no "story," so boring for adults to read, but the pictures could be interesting for little ones。 Once children are able to converse, I can see this being a very enjoyable and rousing book。 This was a real miss。 Probably better suited to children who are able to say "no" (probably a hit with those ones)。 There is no "story," so boring for adults to read, but the pictures could be interesting for little ones。 Once children are able to converse, I can see this being a very enjoyable and rousing book。 。。。more
